Eating Disorder Recovery & Feldenkrais

This week, I wanted to share some writings by Abigail Natenshon on the topic of eating disorders and Feldenkrais. Thank you, Abigail, for the resources you have made available. These resources are so important as many of us begin to understand the epidemic of eating disorders and how to approach those suffering, as well as how to understand a widespread culture of body shame and bullying.

Abigail writes:

"The very process of engaging in the [Feldenkrais Method] work offers the student integration of the distributed nervous system leading to a sense of well-being and confidence that supercedes the need to be thin in order to be acceptable to self and others."

Here are two short pieces by her that speak to this topic:

The Feldenkrais Method in Eating Disorder Recovery

The Feldenkrais Method as it relates to Eating Disorder Practice and Healing the Core Self
